Breaking the Israeli Siege of Gaza May Lead to an Attack at Sea, Detention Camps and Deportation

Ann Wright,, May 27, 2010

By the time you read this, we will be on the high seas of the Mediterranean (we hope the seas will not be too high).

Our two U.S. flagged Free Gaza boats, will join two other passenger ships, a 600 passenger ship from Turkey sponsored by the Turkish humanitarian organization, Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH) and a 50 passenger ship from Athens sponsored by the European Campaign Against the Siege and the Greek/Swedish Ships to Gaza campaign, to sail to the shores of Gaza to break the Israeli naval blockade of the 1.5 million citizens in Gaza.

Gaza Death Zone: Israelis and Egyptians Are Killing Palestinian Youth Who Challenge the Siege of Gaza

April 29, 2010

by Ann Wright,, April 30, 2010

The Palestinians in the Death Zone called Gaza are being slaughtered again as Israel and now Egypt kill and wound more innocent civilians who challenge their illegal siege, blockade and quarantine.

In the past four days, one young Palestinian man has been killed and two young women and a young man have been wounded by Israeli snipers as they protested the Israeli bulldozing of 300 meters of Palestinian land into an Israeli “buffer zone.”  Four young Palestinian tunnel workers have been killed by suffocation and 6 injured as Egypt sprayed a crowd disbursal gas into a tunnel.

Whitewashing Israeli actions

February 5, 2010

George S. Hishmeh, Al Arabiya News Channel, Feb 5, 2010

Much as the world has responded marvelously and generously to calls to help Haitians after their devastating earthquake last month. The opposite has been true about the impoverished Palestinians in Gaza Strip who have been under an increasingly tighter siege since the Israeli blitz a little over a year ago.

The Obama administration has committed $300 million to help rebuild the heavily demolished area, now home to more than 1.5 million Palestinians, many of them refugees from nearby towns in what is now Israel. The United Nations has also raised $4.5 billion, but to date, neither the American nor the U.N. funds have been spent there because of the tight Israeli blockade which is also enforced by the Egyptians on their border with the once Israeli-occupied strip.

An International Crime Called Gaza

January 12, 2010

By Elias Akleh,, January 12, 2010

A fully pre-meditated international crime of genocide has been taking place during the last 62 years in the heart of the Arab World. The victims are the Palestinian people especially those in the Gaza Strip. The assassin is the worst ever terrorist group deceptively called the Israeli Defense Forces under the leadership of the theocratically most racist “god’s chosen” deceitfully self-proclaimed “democratic Jewish-only” Israel. Israel had been created, financed, armed, and politically protected by, mainly, British and American rapture-vision-obsessed Talmudist power elites consisting of profit-seeking financiers and military-industrial complex.

Obama, US media ignore Palestinian suffering

October 12, 2009

John S. Hancock, Concord Monitor, Oct 12, 2009

The United Nations reports that the lives of the 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza, over half of whom are children, remain seriously threatened by severe shortages of essential supplies of food, drinkable water and medicine because of Israel’s devastating blockade. President Jimmy Carter who recently visited Gaza said that the Israelis are perpetrating a “terrible human rights crime” in Gaza.

Israel, despite the nearly total cessation of Qassam rocketfire, sadistically refuses to even ease its illegal and immoral blockade of Gaza. The Obama administration has, inexcusably, taken no action over the past eight months toward alleviating the plight of Gaza’s people. In fact, President Obama is effectively protecting suspected Israeli war criminals by preventing the United Nation’s Goldstone Report from being referred to the World Criminal Court.

The Goldstone Report and other investigations exposed extensive Israeli war crimes committed against a defenseless civilian population in Gaza during Israel’s invasion last December and January. Obama’s promise made before the United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 23 that “the murder of innocent men, women and children will never be tolerated” apparently doesn’t apply when Palestinians are murdered by Israeli soldiers.

The American media’s abysmal coverage of what’s occurred in Gaza and on the West Bank under Israel’s unjust occupation is indicative of both anti-Arab racism and a complete lack of journalistic integrity. The Monitor’s own silence regarding these crucial issues and events of worldwide importance is mystifying. Whatever happened to its professed concern with “saving the children of war in Gaza?”
