The UN general assembly voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to condemn the US blockade on Cuba and for the 18th consecutive year, urged Washington to lift it.
The 192-nation assembly voted 187-3, with two abstentions, to adopt yet another resolution calling for the US embargo to be struck down.
US ambassador to the UN Susan Rice and the representatives from Israel and Palauwere the only three members to vote against the non-binding resolution.

The US, Israel, and Palau against the World Regarding Blockade of Cuba
It is indeed shocking that President Obama has extended the 18 year old blockade of Cuba by one more year. The UN General Assembly deserves to be congratulated for passing the resolution by a vote of 187 to 3, against US embargo of Cuba. It is not surprising that the United States, Israel and Palau were the only three countries voting against the resolution that demands to put an end to the blockade. Marshall Islands and Micronesia abstained.
This is one more indication that Obama is not much different from his predecessor George Bush.
To the Nobel Peace Committee: Obama was silent last week when Israel bulldozed two houses belonging to Palestinians in East Jerusalem; he says it is all right for Israel to build 3000 houses in occupied territories; and now, in light of Obama’s bullying behavior regarding the embargo of Cuba, would you like to reconsider your choice? Does Obama really stand for peace? Are you sure?
